the relocation

It's final. gunpowder Monk will be arriving in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Feb. 18, 2007.

As of that date, I will set about the process of changing the blog to suit the new location.

Thank you for being patient. It's not easy to pack your life up in bags and relocate. And you all know how messed up Beirut's been in the last many weeks. A civil war is simmering over a slow and sure fire.

Please visit again.

relocation information

To all the readers who have persistently visited this blog even though it hasn't been updated in ages, I say "Thank you."

There has been a dramatic change in my life recently, and you will know all about it as soon as I revamp this blog. Soon, it will no longer be "Beirut Impromptu" but something else; something like "Jeddah Impromptu," but the decision is yet to be final.

I am currently in the process of preparing to relocate to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

If you have anything nasty/nice to say about it, please leave a comment below or forever hold your peace.

Sincerely,

GM

i'm back -- almost

there really can be no excuse for not writing anything since December 20, except maybe the fact that i am preparing for a major change in status.

i am currently racing through my thoughts in hope of finding anything remotely resembling anything of interest to write, but nothing has happened since December 20. Or has it?

I played soccer twice, for the first time in over 3 years. For the first time since i became a smoker and quit smoking. It felt good, and i will keep it up, i guess.

What else? I hate to have to squeeze out lots of stories. I know that I can find lots of material if i simply wrote about Christmas eve, or about new year's eve, or about any other eve, but i can't do that.

it's too late.

it's like running into a best friend after 12 years of absence. there is so much to say that it overwhelms you and then you prefer silence to the long talks.

this is exactly what's happening here. Too much info, too little time and space. i need to organize my thoughts.

i need help. I am currently working on a marketing project, but i don't know much about pitching a new product. please write to me with you wisdom, please. I'm not begging, but if you feel like helping someone out, let me know what you think would be the best PowerPoint presentation options for someone pitching a new product to some clients.

thanks.

I've been busy

...which means my record has been tarnished.

I apologize to the frequent visitors for the lack of new material, but something is cooking slowly and I'm letting it simmer before I tell you all about it.

If you are into finger-crossing, cross your fingers of the Gunpowder Monk, because he is in need of plenty of luck.

Or, just write me a small comment wishing me luck. It's all the same. It all works for me.

thank you, search engine

I can't believe that Google actually helped me find an age-old friend. but it did.

Only two days ago I decided to Google my friend's name and found him. After 12 years since i last saw him, I finally found him. I will be even more cheesy: Not only did i find him, but I also found two more friends, whose emails he possessed.

So Google did the 3-in-1.

Try it today. Type a friend's name into Google, preferably in quotation marks (ex: "John Doe" or "Doe John"), and see if you can find him/her. Make sure it's someone you haven't seen in a while.

Then write and tell me all about the experience.
